Green Flash
This photo was taken in San Diego on a clear evening. A green flash is a phenomenon where as the sun sets very low on the horizon, its light travels through the maximum amount of the earth’s atmosphere before reaching our eyes. On clear days, the atmosphere can separate out green light from the sun’s white light like a prism creating a green flash, but it only lasts for 1-2 seconds. This photo is the culmination of years trying to experience this phenomenon. Due to the limits of my lens at the time, the maximum size for this image must be 8x12.
